Ymunodd Preben â'r blaid yn 2021 ac mae'n aelod o Gyngor Tref Llanfairfechan.

Mae Preben yn gwneud PhD mewn deallusrwydd artiffisial ym Mhrifysgol Bangor ac mae'n canolbwyntio ar dechnoleg adnabod llais ar gyfer ieithoedd lleiafrifol.

Preben yw Swyddog Cyfathrebu Rhyddfrydwyr Ifanc Cymru. Mae'n aelod cyffredin o'r Pwyllgor Datblygu Polisi a'r Pwyllgor Ymgyrchoedd a Chyfathrebu ac mae'n Gynrychiolydd Rhyddfrydwyr Ifanc Cymru yn y Pwyllgor Datblygu Aelodaeth. Mae hefyd yn Swyddog Datblygu Aelodaeth i Ddemocratiaid Rhyddfrydol Aberconwy.
